he S-Tec Duck-R is one of a new generation of rope access back-up devices manufactured by Safe Tec. It has a stainless steel body and designed to work on a single rope for use by rope access technicians. While there is no European standard for the use of backup devices in rescue situations the Duck R has been tested for use with a 200kg load, and S-Tech approves them for use in this manner.
